Feldenkrais for Chronic Pain: Rewiring Your Body and Mind

Feldenkrais for Chronic Pain: Rewiring Your Body and Mind - Book Here

Chronic pain can feel overwhelming, but there is a way to work with your body that goes beyond traditional methods. In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll explore how the Feldenkrais Method — now supported by modern neuroscience — can help reduce pain and improve your movement habits.

Feldenkrais uses gentle, mindful movement to retrain your nervous system, breaking the cycle of chronic pain. Neuroscience has shown that pain is not always caused by structural damage but often by learned neural pathways. In this workshop, you’ll learn how pain, like a fire alarm, can sometimes get stuck in the “on” position, misinterpreting signals from the body, and how to get it back to a normal, healthy, way of functioning.

In this workshop, you will:

  • understand the nature of chronic pain

  • learn the role of fear, tension, and bottled-up emotions in the process, and the ways to break the pain cycle

  • discover new ways of moving that feel easy, enjoyable, and pain-free

As you explore yourself in movement during the Feldenkrais practice, you'll calm down your nervous system, expand your movement capabilities, and start rewiring old habits that might be keeping you stuck in pain. You’ll experience how subtle, simple movements can lead to profound changes, starting right where you are.

This workshop is open to anyone looking for a holistic, non-invasive way to manage pain and improve quality of life, no matter the level of your fitness, age or physical limitations. No prior experience with Feldenkrais is needed.

The only prerequisite is for you to be able to lower yourself down to the floor and stand back up, either independently or with the support of something to lean on.

Just bring on a willingness to explore and listen to your body.

What shall I bring?

  • warm comfortable clothes and warm socks

  • a yoga mat or a sports mat, and a blanket (if you prefer to use yours)
